Vor kurzem habe ich einen Text für den RomaMoma Blog, eine Online-Plattform des European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC), mit dem Titel “Painting Back – Decolonization through Art” veröffentlicht.
Ich schreibe über verschiedene Strategien der Dekolonisierung des Museums, des Neu-denkens (Re-Thinking) der Kunstgeschichte und der Störung (Disrupting) der Ausstellungspraxis durch Roma-Künstler*innen. Ich schaue mir die großen Kunstveranstaltungen der letzten Jahre an, bei denen das ERIAC die Teilnahme von Roma-Künstler*innen unterstützt hat. Die Künstler*innen wählen ganz unterschiedliche Strategien, haben aber eines gemeinsam: den Widerstand durch Kunst.

I recently published a text for the RomaMoma Blog, run by the European Roma Institute for Arts and Culture (ERIAC), with the title „Painting Back – Decolonization through Art“
I write about different strategies of decolonizing the museum, re-thinking art history and disrupting exhibition practices through Romani artists. I have a closer look at major art events of the past years where the ERIAC supported the participation of Roma artists. They choose different strategies, but have one thing in common: Resistance through art.
