SALONe TEHERANi wagte als multimediale Performance mit Wort, Bild, Musik, Speis und Trank einen Blick hinter die Kulissen: Wie viel Öffentlichkeit liegt im Privaten und umgekehrt? Wie sieht der Alltag der Menschen in Teheran aus? Werden unsere Erwartungen erfüllt oder sieht es im Iran ganz anders aus, als wir es uns vorstellen – in den Köpfen und auf den Straßen? Wie reflektieren die Akteure der zeitgenössischen Kunst- und Kulturproduktion die Alltagsrealität im Iran? Unter welchen Umständen wird gelebt und gearbeitet, unter welchen Umständen wird Kunst produziert?
Die Zuschauer befanden sich in einem iranischen Wohnzimmer, auf Sofas, Kissen oder Teppichen, und wurden bewirtet wie es die iranische Gastfreundschaft verlangt. Die Performance fand inmitten des Publikums statt, welches Teil der Gesamtinszenierung wurde. Videokünstler drehten für die Inszenierung im Iran geheim Videomaterial im öffentlichen Raum, welches sich mit der Inszenierung im Theaterraum verwebt. Eine Performance beschäftige ich mit dem Frauenbild im Iran, SchauspielerInnen lasen Texte von iranischen AutorInnen.
SALONe TEHERANi dared to take a look behind the scenes as a multimedia performance with spoken words, images, music, food and drink: How much public lies in the private sphere and vice versa? What does the everyday life of the people in Tehran look like? Are our expectations fulfilled or does Iran look completely different from what we imagine – in our heads and on the streets? How do the actors of contemporary art and cultural production reflect everyday reality in Iran? Under what circumstances are people living and working, under what circumstances is art beeing produced?
The viewers were in an Iranian living room, on sofas, cushions or carpets, and were entertained as required by Iranian hospitality. The performance took place in the midst of the audience, which became part of the overall production. For the production in Iran, video artists secretly shot video footage in public space, which interweaves with the production in the theatre space. One performance deals with the image of women in Iran, actors read texts by Iranian authors.
