Das Imaginäre als Ausgangspunkt für ein Neudenken in der Realität. RÉ-IMAGINER LE PASSÉ beschäftigt sich mit der Frage, ob eine Neuinterpretation der Vergangenheit, die auch verdrängte Stimmen berücksichtigt, neue Narrative über die Beziehungen zwischen dem globalen Süden und dem globalen Norden hervorbringen kann. Vor dem Hintergrund der Auswirkungen von Kolonialitäten – Strukturen, die aus kolonialen Verhältnissen hervorgegangen sind und noch heute Lebensrealitäten und Machtstrukturen bestimmen – schlägt das Projekt vor, sich eine Zukunft aus einer vorkolonialen Perspektive vorzustellen und zu verhandeln, um die Möglichkeit eines anderen Wissens, anderer Erzählungen und neuer Denkweisen zu eröffnen.
Drei Tage lang diskutierten wir mit Denker*innen und Künstler*innen über das Thema des Imaginären. Wir waren gemeinsam in Bewegung, wir haben gemeinsam gedacht, wir haben gemeinsam performt, diskutiert und gegessen.
Das Laboratoire diente als Vorbereitung für die Ausstellung “Ré-imagner le passé”, die im November 2023 im Musée Théodore Monod in Dakar und im März 2024 im KINDL – Zentrum für zeitgenössische Kunst in Berlin gezeigt wird.
The imaginary as a starting point for rethinking reality. RÉ-IMAGINER LE PASSÉ addresses the question of whether a reinterpretation of the past, which also considers repressed voices, can produce new narratives and realities on the relations between the Global South and the Global North. Against the backdrop of the impact of colonialities – structures that emerged from colonial conditions and still determine realities of life and power structures today – the project proposes to imagine and negotiate a future from a pre-colonial perspective in order to open up the possibility of a different knowledge, other narratives and new ways of thinking.
For three days with thinkers and artists on the theme of the imaginary. We were in motion together, we thought together, we performed, discussed and ate together.
The Laboratoire served as preparation for the exhibition “Ré-imagner le passé”, which will be shown in November 2023 at the Musée Théodore Monod in Dakar and in March 2024 at the KINDL – Center for Contemporary Art in Berlin.
